Poached Pears

This is a sophisticated Dessert to try at the weekend.

Ingredients

750ml of Red wine
200 grams of Golden Caster Sugar
2 Cinnamon Sticks
1 Vanilla Pod , halved
4 Firm Pears

Method

1) Tip the wine , sugar , cinnamon and vanilla into a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves.
2) Then add the pears making sure they are fully covered and simmer for 30 minutes until they are tender.
3)Remove the Pears  and  heat up the sauce  until it becomes syrupy ( about 30 minutes)
4) Chill in the Fridge and take out one hour before you are ready to serve.
