Simple Mapo Tofu
MapoTofu is a famous dish from China but this is the simplier version. Like all my blog posts if you have a different way to do the dishes then please let me know as I am always learning.
Ingredients Serves 2
1 Onion
3 Chillis
4 Spring Onions
1 Pack of Tofu
2 Tbsp of Chinese Chilli oil
200ml of Water
1 tsp of Corn starch
Minced Pork 250g
For the Marinade
1 Tsp Ginger
1 Tbsp of Mirin
1 Tbsp of Soy Sauce
For the Sauce
2 Tbsp of Doubanjang
2 Tbsp of Oyster Sauce
1 Tbsp of Korean Chilli Powder
2 Tbsp of Dark Soy sauce
Method
1) Marinate the Pork for 30 minutes
2) In a wok heat the Chilli Oil and cook the spring Onions for 2 minutes then add the pork and cook until cooked.
3) Add all the chopped Vegetables and cook along with the sauce ingredients for 5 minutes then pour the water.
4) Bring to a boil and add the Tofu and Boil for another 5 minutes
5) Mix the corn starch with a little bit of water and add to the mixture
6) Serve the Mapo Tofu with rice.
