Dorset Apple Traybake
This is one of the easiest Apple cakes I make and I think its one of the best as well, Please Try
Ingredients
450g of cooking apples
Juice of half a lemon
225g Butter, Softened
280g of Golden Caster Sugar
4 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla extract
350 grams of self-raising Flour
2 tsp of Baking Powder
demerara Sugar to sprinkle
Method
1) Butter and Line a rectangular baking tin with Parchment Paper.
2) Peel, Core and thinly slice the apples then Squeeze the lemon Juice over.
3) In another bowl place the butter, caster sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour and baking powder into a large bowl and mix well until smooth.
4) Spread half the mixture into the prepared tin then arrange half the apples over the top, then repeat.
5) Bake for 50 minutes until Golden, leave to cool and cut into squares
